Addiction & Mental Health Counselor
Erika is an Addiction and Mental Health counsellor who recently graduated from the Honours of Bachelor Behavioural Psychology Degree Program. Within this degree Erika completed three placements. Within her final placement she created a Life Skills Training Manual for her thesis at 1000 Islands Addictions and Treatment Centre. Erika is client focused and applies her CBT, DBT, and ACT skills with a Mindfulness approach. She believes that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgment cooperatively assisting her clients in clarifying their goals for treatment.
Erika enjoys photography and working with animals, including horse back riding. Her future goals are to open her own non profit facility that involves connecting the addictions and mental health population with emotional support therapy animals at more affordable fees. Erika has always had a passion to help those in need by working towards becoming an addictions counsellor and motivating those around her to reach their own goals. Watching individuals succeed motivates Erika to continue her passion and research within this population to bettering clients’ individualized treatment within the facility.
