Valentino Colavecchia is a seasoned mental health and addictions professional with over 15 years of experience and a strong commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and compassionate care. He currently serves as Clinical Director at Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centre and Interim Executive Director of 1000 Islands Addiction Treatment Centre, providing strategic, clinical, and operational leadership.
Valentino holds a Bachelor’s degree from York University, a Diploma in Child & Youth Care from George Brown College, and advanced training in Professional Addiction Studies from McMaster University. He is a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor (CCAC), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS-AC), and a Certified CPI Trainer, supporting trauma-informed care, staff safety, and de-escalation practices.
He began his career in the public school system, where he spent more than 15 years supporting the development and well-being of children and youth, before transitioning into the mental health and addictions sector. Since then, he has held senior leadership roles including Clinical Supervisor and Program Director, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive treatment programs.
An active member of the 12 Step Fellowship, Valentino brings a recovery-oriented perspective grounded in service, integrity, and personal growth. He is widely respected for his compassionate leadership and continues to make a meaningful impact across individuals, teams, and organizations in the mental health and addictions field.
